Saltwater Chlorine Generators & Corrosion

Saltwater Chlorine generators that have become very popular over the last few years are proving to have a serious side effect, corrosion!

I have read that many pool decks, pavers, natural stone and grout products are being etched or otherwise corroded by the excessive salt left on the pool deck when splashed water evaporates. I have personally seen inferior safety fences and Safety Net anchors that have corroded or rusted in place and on the pool deck. One customer had me replace a non-aluminum gate with one of Pool Guards’ because their gate completely rusted in the deck. I also had a customer that asked me to replace their Safety Net anchors in the deck with our Plastic resin anchors due to significant corrosion with their metal anchors. Potential safety fence customers should realize that all products are not created equal and that Pool Guard has reinforced, power coated aluminum poles that are corrosion resistant to salt. As you know, we have been installing this product for many years on ocean seawalls with great success so I know salt from a swimming pool will not corrode a Pool Guard fence.
